Kabus ibn Sa'id (November 18, 1940 - January 10 2020) - Sultan of Oman and the only son of Sultan Sa'id ibn Tajmura. In 1958 he began studying at the Bury St Edmunds school, and from 1960 he continued his education at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. From 1962, he served as a second lieutenant in the British Army of the Rhine in Minden (North Rhine-Westphalia) in Germany, and then accompanied by a British major, Leslie Chauncey, he took a three-month trip around the world.
He became a Sultan after the coup d'état and overthrow his father Sa'id in the 1970s. He is also the sultan of the capital of the country - Muscat, the prime minister of the country and the minister of several ministries.
